5-Hydroxytryptophan 5-HTP

Description

For mild states of depression, panic and anxiety, substance withdrawal & weight loss.

Not to be take with St Johns Wort, or other Anti depressants.

Dose: 1 capsule daily.

Pack size: 30 capsules

5-hydroxytryptophan, or 5 HTP, is manufactured naturally in the human body. It is the direct chemical precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin regulates a variety of functions, including body temperature and digestion. Drugs that increase synaptic serotonin levels, however, are usually used in order to treat depression and anxiety. While most pharmaceutical antidepressants work by preventing the body from destroying or reabsorbing serotonin, 5-HTP is believed to work by increasing the basic building block necessary for the body to manufacture it. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, 5HTP may be as effective as some antidepressant drugs in treating mild to moderate depression.
